Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT and GPT-6.

He said labs shouldn’t train systems unless they can make an “extremely strong case” that humans will remain in control.

He also warned that AI could soon improve its own successors, accelerating faster than governments can react.
