"On February 26th 2026, a two-month-old gray tabby kitten named "Meow Meow," beloved by its family, was abducted, tortured and murdered by a group of children who were only around 10 years old. This horrific tragedy happened in the "Blue Light City World Community" of Jinjiang District, Chengdu, China.
Meow Meow was repeatedly beaten by the children, roughly stabbed with a broom, forcibly submerged in water, maliciously urinated on, and finally thrown from the second floor of a building, left to die in cold and agony.
Several other children who witnessed the brutality suffered severe psychological trauma.
Although Meow Meow was rushed to the hospital, the kitten could not survive. The incident was reported to the local police station, but there are still no clear investigation or results.
Because the perpetrators are children under 14 years old, law enforcement agencies and the media in China typically face very strict restrictions in judicial and journalistic practice."
