A 27-year-old Chinese tourist caused a public disturbance at KLIA Terminal 1 on 18 August 2026.
A viral video (posted on Reddit) shows her barefoot in the international departure hall, shouting in Mandarin:
“Singapore surrender or not? Japan surrender or not?”
She pointed at bystanders, asked if they had phones or were livestreaming, said none of them were Chinese, and warned
“If I die in Malaysia, we’ll all die together.”
She had been livestreaming on TikTok; a man (reportedly an acquaintance) took her phone and tried to pull her away. The scene lasted about 15 minutes before airport staff removed her.
KLIA police issued an official statement the next day (19 August).
Official statement from KLIA Police Chief Asst Comm Ravi Munusamy:
The woman was in the international departure hall at 1.19pm when she began shouting in Mandarin and disturbing other travellers by running, singing and dancing. Terminal security personnel brought her to the Terminal 1 police station.
She arrived in Malaysia with a friend on 6 August and was scheduled to return to China on 18 August. She was taken to the psychiatric ward at Kajang Hospital. The Chinese embassy was informed.
She is in stable condition and still receiving treatment. Police said she was suspected to be mentally unwell and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs.
Ravi urged the public not to engage in conduct that could cause alarm or disturbance in public places, particularly at KLIA Terminals 1 and 2.
No criminal charges have been mentioned in the police statement; the matter was treated as a mental-health case.
