Chinese netizens react to Japan’s deadly Kumamoto earthquake:
“Warm congratulations! Kumamoto is so thrilling~
Let us celebrate for world peace!”
“Hunan sends its regards!”
“What is there to congratulate? The houses didn’t collapse and no one was injured!”
“Increase the dose! Make the island silent.”
While Japanese rescue teams are still digging bodies out of the rubble from a magnitude 7.1 quake, some Chinese netizens are treating it as a “big happy event,” sending formal congratulations, and openly calling to “increase the dose” until the island goes quiet.
What kind of society cheers a neighbor’s natural disaster — and then demands more of it?
