When the experiments ended, they weren’t retired. They weren’t adopted.

They were gutted — organs ripped out, only the heart and kidneys left — then frozen by the ton and sold as dog meat for 12 yuan a jin.

In a village in Jiangsu, volunteers found the freezer full of them. The seller didn’t even bother hiding it:

“Beagles. Fresh. Killed last week.”
Hundreds of dogs that spent their entire lives as living test subjects ended up as cheap meat the moment they were no longer useful.

This is how some “scientific tools” are disposed of in China.

If a dog can be tortured for research its whole life and still end up on a plate the second it’s no longer needed… what exactly is the value of a life under this system?
