While Chinese state media lectures America on ‘excessive’ 4th of July fireworks harming pets and wildlife…
China just had a man torturing adopted dogs to death, and a famous artist literally set off massive fireworks on a sacred Tibetan mountain. The hypocrisy fireworks are louder than the actual show.
Chinese reports are blasting the US for its massive Independence Day fireworks display — claiming around 850,000 pieces (50 times the usual amount) that pollute the air and terrify dogs, cats, and wildlife.
Fair point on the noise and pollution… but this comes from the same country where recent viral cases of horrific dog abuse (including torture videos and dogs burned alive in fireworks incidents) sparked public outrage, yet animal protection laws remain weak.
Meanwhile, Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang (with Arc’teryx) staged a giant “Rising Dragon” fireworks spectacle high up in the fragile, sacred Himalayas of Tibet — blasting the ecosystem and cultural sites, drawing backlash even from locals who aren’t allowed to light incense on their own holy mountains.
At least Americans aren’t burning their dogs while celebrating freedom.
