The Italian PM reacted after the Russian propagandist called her “fascist”, “whore”, “monster” and a “traitor” on air.
“Unlike others, no one pulls our strings, we have no masters, and we don’t take orders. We have only one compass: Italy’s interests,” she said.
After the scandal, Italy summoned the Russian ambassador, and politicians across the spectrum expressed support for Meloni.
Solovyov is under EU sanctions — his villa on Lake Como was previously confiscated. Italy was where he used to spend his money.
