Appeasement noise at its worst, again coming from Foreign Affairs.

1. Why so obsessed with "stabilizing" a fundamentally unstabilizeable "relationship," proven so since the 1950s?
   
2. Why not state the most obvious: the primary source of instability in the U.S.-China relationship is Beijing, not Washington or Taipei. To make it work, China needs to change, not Washington, not Taiwan;
   
3. Taiwan is not “the most dangerous dimension" in the U.S.-China relatinship. Only the CCP is saying so, just like Hitler in the 1930s bamboozled Britain and France into believing the Sudetenland was the most dangerous dimension in all of Germany's historical and ideological grievances. Similarly, China would not stop at taking Taiwan; other dangerous dimensions will involve the Philippines, Japan, India, even Vietnam and beyond;
   
4. The best place to begin is to deter China's aggression with U.S. strength, forcing China to abandon its militant ideology, to be at peace with its neighbors, with the world, and ultimately with the Chinese people.
