An interesting post. I do see the dialectic of thesis vs anti-thesis, not sure that the U.S. is "delaying" delivering the synthesis--it looks like the moment Lloyd's of London gave up its role as Lloyd of Arabia, the U.S. immediately filled in as Donald of Arabia, becoming the armed insurer of the Hormuz energy transits and will soon demand a hefty protection fees formerly known as Lloyd's maritime risk insurance premium. The U.S. is not delaying that synthesis but vying with Iran for a firm grip of it with a final push.
