Ukraine’s Security Service uncovered a Hungarian military intelligence operative, career officer Zoltán Andre, who led a spy network in Ukraine throughout 2025.
His network collected intelligence on military defenses, the population’s socio-political mood, and potential public reactions in the event of a Hungarian military intervention.
Andre was no amateur.
From 2016 to 2020, he operated in Georgia under the cover of Hungary’s diplomatic mission.
After returning in 2021, he shifted his focus to Ukraine. Andre used Hungarian diplomatic facilities to offer money and perks to potential agents.
