Inside the “City of Peace and Justice,” I felt the terror of a Chinese Concentration Camp.
During the National Chinese New Year event at The Hague City Hall, I was brutally assaulted by Chinese security personnel. As they pinned me to the ground, twisted my limbs, and choked me, I didn't feel like I was in the democratic Netherlands. Instead, I felt as if I had been transported back to my occupied homeland, East Turkestan, being dragged from my home toward a concentration camp.
While I was incapacitated, an official whispered in my ear in Chinese: “You deserve the concentration camps. You deserve to die. I am going to kill you!”
This was not just a physical assault; it was a calculated act of transnational repression and psychological warfare designed to silence me through terror. If the long arm of the Chinese regime can reach us inside the heart of Dutch democracy, are any of us truly safe?
My body is injured, but my spirit remains unbroken. Read my full testimony on Bitter Winter regarding this horrific incident.
