Chinese netizen exposes the elite bubble of state media:
Why do CCTV journalists—mostly urban elites who rarely step into ordinary people's lives—obsess over filming American homeless tents to declare 'capitalism failed,' while staying completely silent on northern families freezing in their homes due to heating shortages, or China's own millions living in poverty?
They only 'discover' the bottom of society like issues of homelessness when it's in the USA. The freezing poor in Shandong was not covered at all!
This widely circulated graphic unintentionally highlights the hypocrisy:
• China: poverty line just ¥6,300/year (~$880/person) → ~2 million homeless
• USA: poverty line ~$12,880/year/person → ~580,000 homeless
Same human suffering, wildly different coverage—because domestic reality doesn't fit the narrative.
The gap between elite propaganda and the living struggles of ordinary Chinese keeps widening.
