A Ukrainian woman, @olgaloiek discovered her face had been mass-copied by AI on Chinese platforms — repurposed for so-called “China–Russia friendship” propaganda.
She never consented.
And she refuses to have her image used to sanitize a war against her own country.
This is not “AI creativity.”
It is identity theft.
When a real person’s face is taken and redeployed to glorify an invasion, the ethical line has already been crossed.
The real question is:
at what point did we decide this was acceptable — and who gets to draw that line?
