PJAK’s Call for National Unity and Support for Rojava and Northeast Syria
Addressed to the Kurdish People,
Oppressed Peoples, and Global Public Opinion
A large-scale and highly dangerous assault against Rojava and Northeast Syria has begun. This attack is being carried out with extensive support from Turkey and its comprador forces, namely Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). These attacks have been launched openly and according to a premeditated plan aimed at destroying the Kurdish presence in Rojava and northern Syria, and at a later stage, in all parts of Kurdistan.
The comprehensive military offensives conducted by these forces, with the objective of fully occupying Rojava Kurdistan and dismantling the Democratic Self-Administration, constitute a broad assault against the Kurdish people across all four parts of Kurdistan. The powers operating behind the scenes seek to eliminate the Rojava and Northeast Syria experience in order to prevent the liberation of the Kurdish people in the Middle East and to deny them freedom for yet another century.
The ultimate goal is to endanger the very existence of the Kurdish people through renewed occupation, continued policies of cultural assimilation, genocide, and demographic engineering. For this reason, the Democratic Self-Administration of Rojava and Northeast Syria has declared a general mobilization and called for unity and solidarity in order to thwart these conspiracies and genocidal scenarios.
All Kurdish people—across the four parts of Kurdistan, in Europe, and throughout the world—together with friendly peoples and nations, are called upon to join this general mobilization. Such wars, waged by occupying forces, are undoubtedly detrimental not only to the peoples of the Middle East but also constitute a major obstacle to the ongoing revolutionary movements of peoples and nations across the region.
The forces attacking our people in Rojava and Northeast Syria fear not only the stability and consolidation of the self-administration system, but also the survival of the Democratic Self-Administration of nations as a model for the entire region. They perceive the democratic self-administration built jointly by Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, and other peoples as the greatest threat to their authoritarian ambitions and expansionist aspirations.
Thus, the Syrian interim government and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, with the backing of reactionary regional powers, are attempting to sacrifice all these peoples in bloody wars of their own making. This situation not only drives Syria toward a dark and terrifying future, but also seeks to push the Kurdish people into a position where they can no longer assert any claim to freedom anywhere in the Middle East.
However, the Kurdish people have reached a stage in their struggle where abandoning resistance would mean abandoning the salvation of their very existence.
Therefore, the unified stance of the Kurdish people across all four parts of Kurdistan—through national unity—represents the only viable path to confronting and defeating the war scenarios of invading and occupying forces. Given the existential nature of this issue for our people, we call upon all Kurds in every part of Kurdistan and in Europe to extend unwavering support to the call of the Democratic Self-Administration of Rojava and Northeast Syria for general mobilization and national unity.
War in any part of Kurdistan is a clear indication that the enemy’s genocidal policies have entered the phase of physical extermination. We have already witnessed clear examples of this reality in Kobane, Afrin, and most recently in Aleppo. The recent attacks constitute a full-scale warning by the enemy to the entire Kurdish people.
With deep confidence in the unparalleled resistance and struggle of our people in Rojava Kurdistan—whose determination has, for years, inspired the world—we firmly believe that the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan and across the globe will once again unite with full resolve in support of Rojava.
Likewise, as in the past, we hold strong hope that friendly peoples and nations—supporters and allies of the Kurdish people in the Middle East and worldwide—will continue to stand in solidarity with the historic struggle of the Kurds. It is essential that our people, together with their supporters, take to the streets and public arenas and spare no effort in providing all forms of support for the Kurdish people in Rojava and Northeast Syria.
Through this path of solidarity and national unity, it will be possible to prevent the enemy’s renewed policies of genocide and occupation in Rojava Kurdistan.
