We believe it is a moral responsibility to stand firmly against authoritarianism. The protests in Iran are not an abstract issue or a distant headline; they are a real, unfolding struggle by ordinary people demanding dignity, accountability, and basic freedoms.
Our role, however limited our reach may be, is to witness and to record. To document what is happening matters. History shows that silence enables repression, while even the smallest acts of testimony can disrupt narratives built on fear and denial. Every movement begins with a spark, and that spark is sustained by those willing to speak when it is easier to look away.
We are both fortunate and burdened to witness, in real time, a familiar playbook being deployed once again: information control, intimidation, and the violent suppression of dissent. These tactics are not new, and their consequences are well documented. Remembering this is not provocation; it is vigilance.
If our contribution is only a small voice added to many others, then it is still a voice worth offering. Bearing witness is not heroism, but it is responsibility.
