In Phoenix, Arizona, ICE/Border Patrol agents casually admitted on camera that they broke the law and assaulted a U.S. citizen…
In the video, the agent justifies smashing a car window and dragging a man out by saying, “your brother didn’t get out of the car.”
The driver replies, “And you didn’t have a warrant.”
And the agent… with the confidence of someone who’s never even looked at the Constitution… snaps back: “I don’t need a warrant… you should probably learn the law.”
Which is wild, since he’s the one violating it, all while having his weapon drawn.
For the record: the Fourth Amendment bars exactly this kind of warrantless search and seizure. ICE’s powers under 8 U.S.C. § 1357 don’t allow them to break into a vehicle just because someone didn’t hop out fast enough, especially a passenger. Violating someone’s rights under color of law is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 242. And smashing a window to drag out a citizen without legal cause isn’t “immigration enforcement”… it’s assault under Arizona law.
ICE loves to say “ignorance of the law is no excuse,” but apparently that motto doesn’t apply when they’re the ones clueless.
If a random guy did this, he’d be in handcuffs.
When ICE does it on camera? They call it “Tuesday.”
Maybe before lecturing people to “learn the law,” these agents could try reading it.
