In all seriousness, of course China could use more domestic consumption, but while trying to stimulate that the government will, in the short run, paradoxically need the revenue and basic economic stability that exports provide even more, especially when the overall Chinese economy is already very heavily indebted and government finances are in horrific shape. There’s very little chance of that shift happening during a trade war.
