Chinese activist, 'Sitong bridge man' Peng Lifa is secretly sentenced 9 years in prison.
In October 2022, Mr Peng unfurled 2 bold political banners at Sitong bridge, central Beijing calling on Chinese government to end its restrictive zero-COVID policy and CCP authoritarianism. Inspired by his brave movement, multiple protests erupted throughout China using blank paper as a symbol of dissent.
Mr Peng was arrested at scene and disappeared from public view until today.
