New radar scans from China’s Zhurong rover uncovered 1.3 kilometers of buried coastal deposits, eerily similar to Earth’s shorelines.
The layers formed over tens of millions of years, pointing to a long-lived ocean—not just a one-off flood.
If Mars had stable water, it might have had the right conditions for life.
