Lawyer Xie Yang, was humiliated and tortured during the 709 Crackdown in 2015. Recently, Lawyer Xie Yang was illegally detained for 2 years and 4 months for defending freedom of speech.

However, after communicating with the defense lawyer last week, I learned that Xie Yang was handcuffed and shackled in the detention center for two weeks, forced to strip naked, display his genitals, and perform a lewd dance in front of the camera, and was asked to pay a large bribe to meet with officials. I am very angry.

Based on Xie Yang's statements to the defense lawyer, I have listed eight illegal actions by the public security, prosecution, judiciary, and legal authorities in Changsha, including unlawful case filing, illegal freezing of Xie Yang’s personal assets, illegal interrogation of Xie Yang, and sheltering and protecting those involved in illegal actions. I will file complaints against the involved units and individuals one by one.
