The University of Queensland spent nearly $1 million in taxpayer money on legal fees against me after Chinese state media called for me to be expelled as a student for leading campus protests in support of Hong Kong, Tibet and Uyghurs.
The only reason I'm still standing after this barrage is thanks to this legend. I'm now back on campus studying law and we forced UQ to pay $120,000 to create law scholarships for future students in need. What a win.
I hope to one day follow in Tony Morris's footsteps and fight for the rule of law and justice as a barrister.
