I reminded the German-Ukrainian Municipal Partnerships Conference that the second winter of this full-scale war is approaching. Russia is stockpiling missiles to attack Ukraine's energy system, as it did last year.
Germany is already providing significant assistance in strengthening Ukraine's air defense. I thank @Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, their teams, and all Germans for this and other support.
I am confident that Ukraine-Germany relations will become one of Europe's most reliable security, economic, and social pillars. Especially once Ukraine becomes a full-fledged member of the EU.
