8月26日，西藏吉隆口岸泥石流现场视频显示，山谷内泥水裹挟大量碎石快速下泄。视频前段尚能清楚看到谷底建筑、道路及遍地乱石，约30秒后，上游突然涌来更猛烈的褐色洪流，巨大的泥浪迅速翻过在建的水坝，涌入谷底，扬起大量水雾和尘土。

“演”的不错 8月26日，西藏吉隆口岸发生严重泥石流灾害，造成重大人员伤亡。讽刺的是，就在灾害发生前21天，吉隆融媒体中心曾报道，吉隆县于8月5日在吉隆口岸海关大楼前的空地上，组织开展冰湖溃决地质灾害应急实战演练。

8月26日，尼泊尔与西藏交界处泥石流现场。视频显示，裹挟大量泥沙、树木和碎石的洪流迅速冲过河谷，不断冲击横跨河道的桥梁，河面几乎被浑浊洪水和漂浮物覆盖。洪流最猛烈时，现场扬起大片水雾，视频中可以听到附近民众不断呼喊。

8月26日上午，西藏日喀则吉隆口岸因尼泊尔一侧发生泥石流，造成重大人员伤亡、失联。有亲历者称，当天上午10时许，从吉隆镇驾车前往口岸，在距离口岸约4公里处发现前方树木、电线杆已被冲倒，“大水卷来撵着我们”，车辆不敢掉头，只能一路倒车逃生，连续倒退约3公里后才脱离急流区域。
