For those new to it, it’s a concept from Joseph Overton - a way to gauge the range of ideas society tolerates at any moment.
Imagine a spectrum: unthinkable on one side, widely accepted on the other, with the window being the “okay to say” zone in between.
For a while, it was bolted shut, choked by fear, conformity, and censorship. Nothing daring could slip through. But now? It’s shifting.
