For example, you could shift everyone who is building cars to working at the DMV. That would result in no cars and a much worse standard of living, but GDP would appear to be the same!

The way Dems have handled Elon’s presence and work at DOGE has probably sealed my fate as a 3rd party or GOP voter indefinitely. I can’t imagine voting for a democrat after how I’ve seen them behave this year.
