During his speech in the European Parliament, Kyiv Mayor @Vitaliy_Klychko said that "Ukrainians are now defending peace across Europe."

"The reason for this senseless war is that we Ukrainians want to be part of the European family. And the Russian Federation cannot accept this. It sees Ukraine as part of the Russian empire. That's why we are fighting. For our dream to be a democratic country, for our families, our cities, and our values. And for your countries and your dreams too.

This is the greatest war since World War II. The front line is more than 2,000 kilometers. It is a challenge not only for Ukraine alone. It is a challenge for the whole of Europe. And everyone must realize that we are not just protecting our families and our future. We are protecting each and every one of you.

We're doing the best we can. And we are counting on you, on your support. If we have common values, a common goal - to bring stability and peace back to Europe - we need unity and cohesion around Ukraine. Because stability in one of the largest countries in Europe determines the stability of the entire continent," he said.
