🚨 JASON CALACANIS: "I'm hoping that Sam Altman loses his lawsuit and gets an injunction against him. He's such a weasel in terms of making OpenAI into a closed thing. I like Sam personally but I think what he did was the super weasel move of all time for his own personal benefit. This whole lying of 'I have no equity but I have healthcare."

CHAMATH: "He does it for the love!"

NAVAL: "In OpenAI's defense they need to raise a lot of money and incentivize their employees but that doesn't mean they need to take over the whole thing. The non-profit portion can still stay the non-profit portion and get the lions share of the benefits and be the board. He can have an incentive package and his employees can have an incentive package. I don't understand why they have to be bought out right now for $40B and then the whole thing disappears into a closed system. That part makes no sense to me."

JASON: "That's called a shell game and a scam."

NAVAL: "I think Sam and his team would do better to leave the non-profit part alone and leave an actual independent non-profit board in charge, and then have a strong incentive plan and a strong fundraising plan for the investors and employees, it's just trying to grab it all that seems way off -- especially when it was built on open algorithms from Google, open data from the web, and a non-profit funding from Elon and others."
