Chinese activists Sophia Huang Xueqin (黄雪琴), an independent journalist known for her role in China’s #MeToo movement, and Wang Jianbing (王建兵), a labor activist, were found guilty on charges of “inciting subversion of state power” and sentenced to 5 years and 3.5 years, respectively, in jail at the Guangzhou Intermediate People’s Court after a closed door trial.
