Yesterday we successfully held the event “Preservation of Language and Uyghur Genocide Visualized in 3D,” along with @UyghurAcademyUS, @USIP, @UyghurJustice, and @CUyghurstudy. I want to thank the incredible speakers and everyone who made this gathering possible.
With @UyghurJustice’s immersive visualization project, we saw the walls, the medical equipment, and the prison bars. I can’t help but wonder, did my sister #GulshanAbbas see those walls?
We are running out of time. The #Uyghurs have been suffering for too long. We need to not only remember those who have suffered and continue to suffer but honor their memory by taking action.

Yesterday, Afghan women protested peacefully against Taliban oppression, even as their protest was dispersed. They chanted: "No to gender apartheid. The Taliban must know they cannot silence us with their guns." Despite imprisonment, and torture, they persist. We stand with them.
