Pics of this section of code quickly went viral and ignited a firestorm of controversy because of the instruction time.sleep(6) there. People suspected Huawei was cheating: instead of doing a real demo, what Huawei did, they believed, was simply displaying a pre-stored image 6 seconds after a prompt was entered, making it look like the system was taking some time to generate the image.

Huawei subsequently denied the allegation claiming the image generation was done live…
