xAI NEWS: Just now, xAI held a ground-breaking ceremony for its $80 million Colossus Water Recycling Plant in southwest Memphis, Tennessee.

xAI's Colossus Lead, Brent Mayo (u/BrentM_SpaceX) spoke on how xAI is embracing the local community and driving involvement to help improve the schools, havens, and businesses.

The Water Recycling facility will be equipped with the world’s largest ceramic membrane bioreactor wastewater recycling system and process up to 13 million gallons of wastewater daily to cool the Colossus supercomputer and two nearby industries, eliminating reliance on the Memphis Aquifer.

The project follows the Memphis City Council’s March 2025 approval to sell approximately 13 acres of city land to xAI for the facility’s construction.
