From Delhi to Brussels to California, courts and governments are cracking down on NGOs — but not for the reasons you’d hope.
Corruption, fraud, and misuse of funds have turned too many so-called charities into personal piggy banks.
Delhi’s High Court recently labeled 99% of NGOs as “fraud” and “money-making devices.”
In Europe, the Qatargate scandal exposed NGOs at the center of international bribery.
Even in the U.S., nonprofits have been caught inflating impact reports to rake in donations.
Now, USAID has been terminated for mismanaging billions in taxpayer funds, putting an end to the era of many corrupt nonprofit organizations.
