DEMOCRACY? The German Bundestag is set to vote today on whether to initiate proceedings to ban the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. A total of 113 out of 736 MPs have formally petitioned the Constitutional Court to rule the AfD unconstitutional. If the court decides in favor of a ban, the party would lose all its seats in parliament and regional assemblies, and its assets could be confiscated.
