Mazen Hamada had previously been detained for four years, during which he endured severe torture and rape.
He was later released and migrated to the Netherlands.

Mazen Hamada had previously been detained for four years, during which he endured severe torture and rape.
He was later released and migrated to the Netherlands.
I met him three years ago, and he was in a very poor state. Two weeks later, we were shocked to hear that he had returned to Syria, and we do not know what happened after that.
Unfortunately, he was found dead.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family.
