Foreigners in China are mostly non-white. Ask some Japanese, Pakistanis, or Nigerians -- or black Americans -- what their experiences has been, and you'll find different stories.
There's far more negative attitude towards White Americans and Europeans in China today than there was in the 2000s and 2010s. This stabbing exemplifies that.
