It is critically important that @EcoHealthNYC president Peter Daszak will be testifying under oath before the US House @COVIDSelect committee tomorrow morning. I hope he will be treated with dignity and respect.

While Peter has a distinguished record of working to promote safety and public health, his actions leading up to and during the #COVID19 pandemic raise fundamental questions which must be addressed. This is the ultimate bipartisan issue.

Peters‘s February 2020 @TheLancet letter was a disgrace, as was his withholding public disclosure of the DEFUSE grant application. Democrats should hold Peter accountable for his inexcusable attacks on President Biden from Wuhan.

Peter may well have believed that US-China scientific collaboration was key to preventing future pandemics. But when it became clear those very collaborations may have helped spark the deadliest pandemic in a century, he should have aggressively reconsidered his approach and his loyalties.
